Yora + Slack, AI that reads your threads and answers "where did we land on X?"

The short answer

Yora connects to Slack via Slack OAuth. Yora searches channels and DMs when you ask, summarizes long threads in two sentences, and sends messages on your behalf only with your confirmation.

What Yora does with Slack

Thread search on demand. "Where did we land on the caching PR." Yora finds the thread and gives you the two-sentence answer.

Channel summaries when you ask. "Summarize #product since yesterday." Yora reads overnight activity and surfaces what matters. Triggered by you, not by silent polling.

Sends messages with your confirmation. "DM Maria: need her review on the auth spec by tomorrow." Yora drafts, you confirm, Yora sends.

Mention recap. Yora can tell you who mentioned you while you were away.

Team pulse. Optional Pulse line summarizing your most important channels.

What Yora accesses

Slack OAuth scopes Yora requests:

• channels:history — read messages in public channels you authorize
• groups:history — read messages in private channels you invite the Yora bot into
• im:history — read your own direct messages
• mpim:history — read group DMs you are part of
• chat:write — send messages on your behalf when you confirm a draft
• users:read — resolve user names so Yora can answer "what did Dani say"
• search:read — power thread search when you ask

You can review and revoke these from your Slack workspace at any time. Workspace admins can also restrict the Yora app per workspace policy.

What Yora never does

• Yora does not train AI models on your Slack messages. Ever.
• Yora does not read every channel automatically. Only channels you authorize plus your own DMs.
• Yora does not post or DM without your confirmation. Every send is explicit.
• Yora does not sell or share your Slack data with third parties.
• Yora does not use your Slack data for advertising or analytics.

How to connect

1. Sign in to Yora 2. Settings → Integrations → Slack → Connect 3. Authorize the Yora app inside your Slack workspace 4. Pick which channels Yora can read. Public channels default in; private channels require you to invite the Yora bot per channel.

How to disconnect

Settings → Integrations → Slack → Disconnect. Yora revokes the OAuth tokens with Slack, deletes them from our database, and clears the integration cache within minutes. Workspace admins can also remove the app from Settings & administration → Manage apps at any time.

Data and storage

• Where tokens live. OAuth tokens encrypted at rest in Supabase (EU region), row-level-secured to your user ID.
• Cache. Recent messages cached around 30 minutes for speed.
• Memories. Decisions and commitments Yora extracts persist in your private memory until you delete them. Slack message bodies are not stored long-term.
